Pentawards was created in 2007 and is a worldwide competition exclusively devoted to packaging design in all its forms. It is open to everybody who is associated with the creation and marketing of packaging. Jean Jacques and Brigitte Evrard, partners in life and in business for more than 35 years, are the founders of Pentawards. They have been epda members from the early beginnings. Red Dot Design Award
The origins of the red dot design award go back to 1955. Today it is one of the largest and most coveted design awards in the world. epda has cooperated with the red dot award: communication design for many years. Since 2007 epda members regularly represent the packaging design jury. The packaging design jury members in 2015 were Cyriac Porte / Team Créatif, Jennifer Tsai / Proad Identity and Uwe Melichar / Factor.

Brand Identity Grandprix
The Brand Identity GrandPrix has its origin in Italy. It rewards the best projects of brand identity and strategic design projects from the structural perspective of visual communication and is open to Italian as well as to international designers. epda has endorsed the Brand Identity GrandPrix since 2012 and is represented with one design professional in the jury of marketing directors. Created in 2008 the Dieline Awards recognizes the best in consumer product packaging design worldwide. It exists as a way to celebrate innovation and honor excellence in packaging design. An esteemed jury of structural packaging, design, branding, and consumer product experts examine each submission with regards to four key elements: Creativity, Marketability, Innovation, and Execution.
In 2014 epda endorsed the first Dieline packgaging design networking event during the Emballage trade show in Paris on November, 16-17. The one-day conference brought together 300 particpants and gave free access to the trade show. epda member Fabrice Peltier and dieline founder Andrew Gibbs animated workshops and moderated round-table discussions. In 2016 Andrew Gibbs was one of the jury members of epda’s own design competition DIY on “The Future of Packaging”.
